"Unleashing the Power of Food: Diet Tips for Neurodivergence"

Rethinking Dietary Choices for Neurodivergent Families

Many people seek a single solution when it comes to diets for neurodivergence, yet every family’s needs shift through life’s different “seasons.” Stressful times or demanding work schedules may call for dietary flexibility, rather than a rigid approach.

In our experience, a mostly paleo-style diet works well, but even that may change as our goals and circumstances evolve. Recently, our family eliminated grains and dairy during a trip to Iowa, noticing dramatic improvements in mood, energy, and digestion—especially for our 10-year-old son with autism.

Transitioning toward a GAPS diet, we've focused on gradual, sustainable changes, including sourcing high-quality meats locally. Open conversations and involving everyone in decisions help us manage resistance and foster lasting habits.

Above all, local families should remain flexible and curious—adjusting their food choices as needs and health challenges change.

 "Revolutionizing Support for Neurodivergent Futures"

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Our focus is not on "fixing" anyone who is neurodivergent, but on enhancing quality of life and providing supportive tools and opportunities.

Challenges like anxiety, social difficulties, or depression are real, and our commitment is helping you overcome unnecessary obstacles so you can fulfill all that God has planned for you.

Our insights come from personal experience as a parent of two neurodivergent children—one diagnosed, one not—giving a heartfelt perspective on these issues.

We do not claim to have universal solutions for complex conditions such as autism, ADHD, or OCD. Each journey is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all answer.

We hope the strategies and perspectives we share, drawn from genuine care and hard-earned lessons, will provide families with support, spark discussion, and offer hope for a brighter, less challenging future.

Los Angeles County Launches Inclusive Hiring Initiatives for Neurodivergent Individuals

Los Angeles County is advancing inclusive employment with fresh initiatives supporting neurodivergent residents and those with criminal histories.

Supervisor Janice Hahn championed a new Neurodiversity Hiring Pilot Program, gaining full Board approval. This effort aims to connect neurodivergent applicants with roles that fit their talents, involving departments like Aging and Disabilities, Economic Opportunity, and the County Library.

The program will develop best practices, identify required accommodations, and measure outcomes to ensure effective workforce integration for neurodivergent individuals.

The Fair Chance Ordinance, active since September 3, 2024, targets hiring discrimination against people with past convictions, expanding local job access through new compliance rules.

The County’s Youth@Work program also continues to support young residents, including those with disabilities, by offering paid work and enrichment opportunities across sectors.

Altogether, these steps highlight a bold commitment to a more equitable and diverse local workforce.
